NORTH CHARLESTON — Hundreds of nonprofits and government agencies that support crime victims will benefit this year from $32 million in federal grants.S.C. Attorney General Alan Wilson visited the Lowcountry on Oct. 13 as part of his tour across the state to present local agencies with new federal funding. At a news conference held in North Charleston's City Hall, Wilson commended roughly 50 people in attendance who represent local nonprofits and law enforcement. Roughly one-third of the federal grants awarded to the state this year were distributed to agencies based in the Lowcountry.
